Troubleshooting Guide

Having issues? Don’t worry. Here are solutions for the most common problems.

Make sure you have already had a look through the quick start guide in case you missed anything.

1. My WAV files don’t show up or won’t play.

Checklist:

  • Make sure your files are standard 44.1kHz, 16-bit WAV files (other formats won’t work).
  • Confirm your files are not corrupt (try playing them back on your computer).
  • Use our Handy Online Converter to format your files correctly, no technical knowledge needed.
  • Double-check that your files are copied completely onto the device.

2. The metronome isn’t working as expected.

Checklist:

  • Is your audio file “bounced to the grid”? (i.e., the start of the track matches the grid in your DAW, so the click lines up perfectly.)
  • Lead-in time: Make sure you’ve left 1 or 2 bars of silence at the start if you want a count-in before the music begins.
  • BPM in filename: Always add the BPM at the end of your track name.
  • 4/4 is default: If you don’t add a Time Signature, the device will assume it’s 4/4.

Examples:

  • 01_INTRO.wav
  • 03_NewSong_128bpm.wav
  • 04_Ballad_6-8_72bpm.wav

3. The device isn’t connecting to my laptop.

Checklist:

  • Use the included USB-C cable, or another cable that is confirmed for data transfer (not all USB-C cables carry data—some are power only).
  • If your device doesn’t appear in your file manager:
    • Try a different USB port on your computer.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Try another USB-C data cable which you know actually works.

4. How do I safely disconnect the device?

  • Always eject the device safely from your computer before unplugging the USB-C cable. This helps avoid any file or memory corruption.
